CH 4126 - Advanced Inorganic Chemistry Present theories of chemical bonding are treated, including electrostatic, valence bond, molecular orbital and continuous solid models. From these theories the structures of inorganic substances are derived. Topics such a symmetry and point groups, nonaqueous solvent systems, secondary chemical forces, structure and properties of transition metal complexes are treated. Time permitting; a survey of organometallic chemistry is included.
Prerequisite(s): and . Prereq/Corequisite CH 3224 - Physical Chemistry II and CH 3224L - Physical Chemistry II Laboratory .
