SA 4055 - Environmental Education Certification

This is a project based learning opportunity for Delaware Valley University students, through the engagement of becoming a certified Pennsylvania Non-Formal Environmental Educator. Through this course students will complete their individual oral presentations and student lessons, and written reflection required for the certification. In addition, students will be required to attend state and local conferences. The Pennsylvania Non-Formal Environmental Educator Certification is a rigorous process that documents and certifies that an educator possess the skills and knowledge necessary to be an exemplary environmental educator. This certification program is encompassing of teaching environmental and conservation education, in non-formal and formal settings, to all ages and learning levels. DVU students will create, execute and reflect on a series of environmental lessons. In addition, series of certification opportunities will be offered to students, such as Project WET, WILD, and FLIGHT. Completion of this course does not equate to the receipt of certification.
