This course is a 3000-level workshop that will provide students an opportunity to explore how elements of composition like metaphor, rhythm, and linguistic construct have shaped modern poetry. In this course students will learn the theoretical underpinnings of writing poetry as well as several different approaches. Students will write several poems of varying length and composition. 3 hours Lecture and Discussion - 3 credits    This is a writing course and cannot be substituted for EN 2028 Introduction to Literature.
