EN 2320 - British Literature II This literary survey course introduces students to the major writers of 19th- and 20th-century, especially those whose great works illustrate the styles and sensibilities that have since become associated with such latter-day labels as “Romantic,” “Victorian,” and “Modern.” Following a chronological sequence from the French Revolution to WW2, the course will introduce students to the literary traditions and trends-as well as the historical and cultural contexts-that gave shape to the literature produced in England, Scotland, and Ireland over the past two-plus centuries.
