EN 2310 - British Literature I This literary survey course introduces students to the major writers and works of England’s Anglo-Saxon, Medieval, Renaissance, Restoration, and Enlightenment periods. Following a chronological sequence from the ninth onto the eighteenth century-from Beowulf to Chaucer to Shakespeare to Swift-the course will also situate the literary texts and their traditions within the historical and cultural contexts that shaped the first millennium of British literature.British Literature I
