LA 1032 - American History and Government Since 1877 This course surveys the history of the United States from the end of Reconstruction in 1877 to the present. It covers a wide range of topics, including the rise of big business, the Progressive Era, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, and the War on Terror. The course also examines the development of American government and politics during this period.
