EN 2043 - Semantics and Semiotics This course explores language forms and establishes the relationships between signs and symbols and what they represent. It covers the use and abuse of verbal and non-verbal language and applies semantic/semiotic principles to the language of politics, popular culture, advertising, and prejudice. The course objectives include familiarizing students with the nature of language meaning, alerting them to language abuses, and enhancing their communications skills.
Prerequisite(s): EN 1101 - English I and EN 1201 - English II or EN 1211 - Advanced English II .
