CJ 4230 - Criminal Justice Research Methods

Utilizing the research methods and techniques
employed in the criminal justice field, students
will examine current and important research on
criminal behavior, policies, programs and
organizations.  Emphasis will be on applied
research, utilizing both field and survey
research methods.  Students will gain further
insight into the role of criminological theories
and their relationships to crime causation in the
real world and how these theories guide research.
Students will acquire the requisite skills
needed to conduct original research.  These
competencies will prepare students for the
criminal justice experiential learning course, CJ
4240 Senior Seminar, in which each student
conducts research and makes a formal presentation.
