CJ 3140 - Probation, Parole, and Community Corrections Probation as a judicial process and parole as an executive function are examined. Innovative and progressive practices in federal, state and municipal systems are explored so that the student has working knowledge of the theory and practice in such community-based programs as work-release, half-way houses and contract program planning. The criminal’s attitude toward society and the rehabilitative process are studied.
