Special Educators must be prepared to implement research-based intervention models and datadriven, reliable assessments in order to plan individualized instructional plans for students with diverse learning and social challenges. Highlights of the course include: . Review research and practice specific to specialized instruction for students with disabilities in language, reading, writing, math, and other content areas. . Study processes of disability identification and monitoring student progress; and data-based decision-making for instruction, universal instruction, and interventions . Explore effective practices for a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) and school-wide positive behavioral support (SWPBS). .
