SLP 7072 - Topics Course: Aural Rehabilitation

This online course will present the fundamentals of audiologic rehabilitation and hearing-related speech-language pathology. Information will be presented on the theory, clinical practice and evidence-based research related to the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss across the lifespan. Students will be presented with case studies and will develop treatment plans for children, adults and elderly persons who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Resources on hearing loss will be provided throughout the course. A variety of instructional methods will be used to facilitate learning including lectures, cases studies, self-reflection essays, examinations, writing a research paper and reviewing webinars. 3 credits
