CH 3145 - Medicinal Chemistry


Medicinal chemistry covers the fundamental aspects of drug design and discovery, as well as the chemical characteristics of drugs that influence their metabolism, toxicology and pharmacodynamics. This course will focus on various drug classes, including chemotherapy agents, antibiotics, and antiviral drugs. Unique case studies will be presented throughout the course to illustrate novel and challenging obstacles encountered in the drug development process.

Prerequisite(s): Take CH-2120 or CH-2003
