CJ 4230 - Criminal Justice Research Methods


Utilizing the research methods and techniques employed in the criminal justice field, students will examine current and important research on criminal behavior, policies, programs and organizations.  Emphasis will be on applied research, utilizing both field and survey research methods.  Students will gain further insight into the role of criminological theories and their relationships to crime causation in the real world and how these theories guide research. Students will acquire the requisite skills needed to conduct original research.  These competencies will prepare students for the criminal justice experiential learning course, CJ 4240 Senior Seminar, in which each student
conducts research and makes a formal presentation.
