LAES 2208 - Medicinal Plants


The course Medicinal Plants reviews human health philosophies of diverse cultures and societies; covers history and practice of herbal medicine; examines properties of phytochemicals and therapeutic values; learns botanical and medical significance of medicinal plants; familiarizes with fundamental plant taxonomy and binomial nomenclature; identifies commonly used woody and herbaceous medicinal plants; examines their uses and cultivation on campus and off campus; discusses biodiversity of medicinal plants and sustainability of medicinal plants as alternative crops; researches new developments, applications and legislations of medicinal plants.
